eBay fees for private sellers

When selling items, it is important to take into account the fees it is going to cost you upon completion of the sale. If you have a none business account ebay fees are as listed below.
Auction style fees

FEES

£1 - £4.49
15p
£5 - £14.99
25p
£15 - £29.99

Fixed price listings are 40p.
If your item sells you do not pay any final fee, however it will cost the same amount to relist it again. If your item does sell, you are charged 10% of the final value.
A tip to keep fees low is to add more money to the postage and packaging  and less money to the start price, however this may move your listing down on the search results and make your look less attractive than other similar items.
Another tip is to make the duration of the listing to 5-7 days, doing this gives people longer time to find your listing.

Getting more traffic to your eBay listings

For many people selling on eBay, it can be a very frustrating thing. In this article I will be telling you some tips on how to get more people viewing your listings and hopefully increase selling rates.

1.     The most important thing to a person who is going to buy your product is the price. Research other peoples sales and prices and compare them to yours, chances are their price is going to be a lot lower than yours. Make your price as low as you can but still be making a decent profit.
2.     Another thing that helps attract people to your listing is using sub titles and more pictures, this moves your item higher up the listings so that yours is easy to find when people search for your item or items similar to yours.
3.     A common mistake made is spelling, before you publish your listing make sure all the spelling is correct. Spelling is important because if someone searches your item but the spelling for your item is incorrect, it will not come up in their search results consequently, you do not make the sale.
4.     Put yourself in your buyer’s shoes and think about what you would search for if you wanted to find your item. Using good keywords in your title and description will bump your listing up a few places in the search results.
5.     Offer free shipping on your item. Add the shipping cost to the price of the item because believe it or not, free shipping also helps move your item higher up the listings.
6.     The final thing which helps your item sell is having an eBay shop, having an eBay shop which specializes in certain areas will give you more sales, and people will come back to you and use you again because you have built a good reputation.

Do not pass any of these tips and think “that is unnecessary” if you follow them all correctly your sales should increase.
